If you’re alert and the angle of the sunlight is right, you canusually see the web before walking into it. According to Steve Willson, owner and manager of Blue Jay Barrens in southern Ohio, there is a practical reason for this. The web is positioned just above the height of the second tallest animal moving through the forest. That would be the whitetail deer and when walking, they pass just under the web.
